Warriors closing in on Bulls all-time NBA record of 72 wins in a single season, but Hall of Famer Pippen says his team would clinch a 4-0 finals sweep

The Warriors are closing in on Chicagos all-time record of 72 NBA wins in a single season but one of the Bulls legendary roster doesnt think his side would have much trouble with Golden State in a hypothetical finals match-up.

Scottie Pippen, the Hall of Fame small forward who dominated the NBA in an outstanding starting lineup that featured Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman, said he was confident that his side would claim a 4-0 finals sweep even if the Warriors do go on to break the record.

Bulls in four [games], Pippen said during an interview with The Dan Patrick Show.

The Warriors are 68-8, and need five wins from their remaining six to break the record that the Bulls set in 1995-96. Many consider that Bulls team to be the greatest in NBA history. They were unbeaten at home until April, and finished 72-10, with a 39-2 record at the United Center.

Pippen was also asked whether his Bulls would be prepared to go easy on the Warriors at least for one night. Pippen said no.

I dont think wed take a night off, he quipped.

Pippen also predicted that he would draw the assignment of guarding league MVP Stephen Curry, while Michael Jordan would defend Klay Thompson.

I think that my size and length would bother [Curry] a little bit, said Pippen. The Hall of Famer said he believed he could limit Curry to under 20 points.

Pippens Bulls won six NBA championships, including three in a row from 1996-98. Chicago went 72-10 in the 1995-96 season before beating the Seattle SuperSonics in the NBA finals.
