The Basketball Africa League (BAL), a collaboration in between the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the National Basketball Organization (NBA), is a new professional organization featuring 12 club teams from across Africa. The BAL builds on the structure of club competitions FIBA has actually organized in Africa and marks the NBA’s first partnership to operate a league outside The United States and Canada.
The 12 groups have been divided right into 3 conferences of four teams each. Each conference will play a 12-game group stage during which each team will face the other three teams in its meeting two times. The top 2 groups from each conference and the top 2 third-place teams from across the three conferences will travel to BK Arena in Kigali for four seeding games complied with by an eight-game, single-elimination Playoffs and Finals from Friday, May 24– Saturday, June 1.
