The Boston Celtics hang on despite being outscored 36-21 in Q4, to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks, 122-119 and have officially clinched the Atlantic Division. Jayson Tatum led Boston with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists while Derrick White (23 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists) and Jaylen Brown (21 points, 8 rebounds) totaled 44 points. Damian Lillard totaled 32 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists as Bobby Portis (14 of 24 points in final frame, 15 rebounds) and Khris Middleton (22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists) totaled 46 points with Giannis Antetokounmpo out. Boston improves to 55-14 as the Bucks move to 44-25.
Boston clinches the Atlantic Division with their win v Milwaukee. The last full season the Celtics clinched the Division in less than 70 games played was the 2010-11 season, when they did so March 20th, with a 49-19 record – 13 years to the day.
Boston has now won 7 in a row and are 18-2 in their last 20 games after dropping two games following an 11-game win streak from February 4th to March 3rd earlier this year.
Boston is one of three teams to reach a win streak of at least 7-games twice this season, joining Cleveland (9 and 8 game streaks) and Phoenix (7-game streaks twice).
